The month of June has been filled with baby, baby, babies! It started with my niece Christine; her labor was a surprise as her water broke four weeks early. While it was a little scary in the beginning, miss Emsley (meaning gift of God) is finally out of the ICU and at home to complete their family of five.
Then there was Christine’s younger sister, Alli’s baby shower. (Yes, both sisters were due around the same time – this family likes to do things together – inside joke – lol). This is Alli’s first child and the shower was a complete success! I, of course, made onesies!
The theme chosen for the shower was “Ready to POP!” and there was no way you didn’t know it! I do love all the etsy purchases that helped tie it all together. I’ll direct you to Courtney’s blog (the youngest sister) for the full effect. I stole the collage below from her blog but since she so kindly featured me being silly in her blog, I’d thought I’d do the same. I love being an Aunt!!!
And last… My cousin Renae had her baby Elyse’s first birthday! Mom and I flew out to Chicago last weekend and little did we know how busy it would be for a child’s birthday. The theme was “lady bug” and boy did we go all out! Here is just a glimpse of the decorations that exploded over the house! I swear, after having to “make” all the red pom pom poofs – aka poof party, poof-a-palooza, poof prison – I may never want to poof again.
I was lucky enough to get a lot of alone time with miss El (she kept getting confused when I was the one to greet her after her nap). I swear! She was smiling seconds before I took this picture!
Overall it was a great but tiring trip (including the plane rides) but totally worth it because I got to use my dancing and singing skills to make miss El giggle at any moment. Take that Nickelodeon!
I can’t believe that June has come to an end… But July is truly our family’s celebration month. Why you ask? Besides baby Kailey on her way, I have six other family members with their birthdays in July. Yep. But happy this year is filled with celebrations, better than last year. I have some more to add from this Chicago’s trip but I’ll include that in the next post.
